Wydad end relationship with Paulo Sérgio and pave the way for Nassereddine Nabi
Wydad Casablanca have reached an agreement with their Portuguese coach Paulo Sérgio to mutually terminate his contract, after both parties settled the details of the separation during a meeting, according to reports from Moroccan media.
Sources have indicated that Ibrahim Al-Asri, the president of the red club, held a meeting with Portuguese coach Sergio on Tuesday, which concluded with an agreement to end the contract in exchange for Sergio receiving 800,000 euros, thus bringing their relationship to an end.
In related news, Tunisian Nasreddine Nabi emerges as the leading candidate to take over as coach of Wydad in the upcoming period, with his arrival in Casablanca expected on Wednesday evening to finalize the arrangements related to taking on the role.
Wydad's management is betting on this step to regain positive results and improve the team's performance this season, as they seek to correct the course and enhance the club's chances in the competition.
Nabi has left Raja Club Athletic ahead of the current season due to a strained relationship with sporting director Rogério Matias, which ended his time with the green team before a potential move to their traditional rivals.
