Arsenal are close to reaching an agreement with midfielder Declan Rice to extend his contract, as the club aims to retain one of their key players in the coming years.

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has reported that negotiations between Arsenal and Declan Rice are progressing positively, but both parties are still working to finalize the length of the new contract and some final terms before the official announcement of the agreement.

Declan Rice joined Arsenal in the summer of 2023 from West Ham United for a fee of around €116.6 million. His current contract runs until June 2028.

Arsenal are keen to retain the services of English midfielder Declan Rice for a long time, having become a key pillar in the team's lineup thanks to his abilities in regaining possession and building attacks, alongside his offensive contributions. The player is highly regarded by the club's management, coaching staff, and teammates, and he represents an important element in the plans of coach Mikel Arteta.

Negotiations to extend Declan Rice's contract come after Arsenal reached an agreement with Arteta to extend his contract until June 2030, as the club seeks to maintain stability in its sporting project and keep the core elements of the team.
