Rwandan army striker: We have not lost hope in continuing our journey in the CAF Champions League
Ivorian William Tujimile, striker for Rwandan Army, has confirmed that his team has not lost hope in continuing their journey in the CAF Champions League, stating that they are ready to fight until the very last second.
Rwandan army lost to Zamalek SC 1-0 in the first leg of the second preliminary round of the CAF Champions League last Friday.
Togui, in statements reported by the Rwandan newspaper "The New Times", said: "The mission is not over yet. There is still a return match, and we still have the opportunity to make history together, and we are ready to fight until the last second."
The Ivorian striker added that the Rwandan army gave everything they had during the first leg, but the result did not reflect the effort put in by the players, continuing: "We gave everything we had on the pitch and fought together, but luck was not on our side. This is football; sometimes you give your all, but things don't go as you hoped."
Togui emphasized that the loss does not reflect the true level of the Rwandan team, expressing confidence in his teammates' ability to make up the one-goal deficit, stating: "This result does not reflect our reality; we have the ability to change this situation."
The second leg of the preliminary round in the CAF Champions League between Zamalek SC and the Rwandan Army will take place next Saturday, October 24.
