Mazraoui nears return to Manchester United

Noussair Mazraoui has received positive indications regarding his return to the pitch, after Michael Carrick, manager of Manchester United, announced that the right-back is close to rejoining group training ahead of the match against Leeds United tomorrow, Sunday, in the Premier League.

The official website of the English club stated yesterday, Friday, that Carrick addressed the developments regarding Mazraoui's physical condition during the press conference, confirming that the player has started participating in some training sessions, in a step that paves the way for his return to the team.

The English coach said: "We hope that Noussair Mazraoui will be with us again. He has undergone some training and will return to the group environment, which is a good step in the right direction for us."

Noussair Mazraoui has been sidelined from Manchester United matches since the last international break, having suffered an injury while playing for the Moroccan national team. This has kept him out of the matches against Tottenham and Atlético, which ended in defeat for the English side last Tuesday.

The Moroccan defender's injury coincided with significant absences on the left side, with both Luke Shaw and Patryck out. This prompted the coaching staff to rely on defender Ayden Heaven to fill the left-back position during the match against Atlético.

Despite Noussair Mazraoui's partial return to training, his participation against Leeds United is still uncertain, as Carrick has not provided any guarantees regarding his availability, merely indicating that he is close to rejoining the group.

The coaching staff is expected to determine the player's status after assessing his physical readiness, as they are keen to avoid rushing him back into competitions before he fully regains his fitness.
