Toney matches Al-Somah's achievement in Al-Ahli shirt in Saudi Pro League

Englishman Ivan Toney, the striker for Al-Ahli, has matched the achievement of Syrian Omar Al-Somah in the 2016-2017 season, having reached 11 goals in the first eight rounds of a single season in the Saudi Pro League.

Al-Ahli matched a historic record with a big win over Al-Fateh, thrashing their hosts four goals to nil in the match that took place on Friday evening, as part of the eighth round of the Saudi Pro League.

Ivan Toney scored during the match, continuing his scoring brilliance with Al-Ahli, and repeating what Omar Al-Somah achieved a few seasons ago when he reached the same tally during his first eight matches in the Saudi Pro League.

Al-Ahli secured three more points, raising their tally to 15 and placing them fifth in the Saudi Pro League table after a strong performance against Al-Fateh.

In contrast, Al-Fateh's struggles have deepened after a heavy defeat, as their tally remains at three points, placing them in 17th position, second from bottom, with their situation in the Saudi Pro League continuing to be difficult.
