Freiburg striker welcomes move to Manchester United
Manchester United have received a boost in their attempts to sign Croatian striker Igor Matanović, who plays for SC Freiburg, after the player expressed his willingness to move to Old Trafford.
TEAMtalk reports that Manchester United are keeping an eye on Matanović in preparation for a bid in 2027, alongside Arsenal and Chelsea. SC Freiburg values their striker at £50 million and has no plans to sell during the winter transfer window.
Matanović has joined SC Freiburg in the summer of 2025, scoring 21 goals and providing 6 assists in 57 matches. He has also netted 6 goals and delivered 2 assists in 7 matches this season.
Football Insider has reported that Matanović will welcome the opportunity to move to Manchester United, considering that playing in the Premier League represents a significant draw for the Croatian forward.
Manchester United are looking for a new striker as the team relies on Benjamin Šeško as a central forward, with Matheus Cunha and Joshua Zirkzee capable of playing in this position despite neither being a traditional striker.
