David Silva clarifies the truth about his return to football
Spanish legend David Silva, formerly of Manchester City and the Spain national team, has confirmed that his return to the pitch with Soprim Chai Tin in Hong Kong will be for just one official match, and not to play a full season, following the club's announcement which caused a significant stir in recent hours.
Silva stated during his conversation with "El Partidazo" on Cadena Cope that he was surprised by the news of his full-season signing, explaining that it relates to just one match in the league. He mentioned that the idea appealed to him due to his love for Hong Kong and his desire to experience something different and return to competition, even if it is just for one match.
Silva has denied that his return to football is linked to any financial crisis, after some people reached out to check on him due to these rumors. He confirmed that his financial situation is good and that he has successfully invested his money over the past 20 years with the help of his father and advisor.
David Silva, aged 40, retired from football in 2023 after a historic career with Valencia, Manchester City, Real Sociedad, and the Spain national team, before deciding to play one official match again with Supreme Chai Tin in the Hong Kong Premier League.
