Qatar welcomes Akram Afif back to training ahead of Saudi Arabia clash

Akram Afif has returned to training with the Qatar national team ahead of the upcoming clash against Saudi Arabia tomorrow, Saturday, in the Semi-Final of the Arabian Gulf Cup, after missing the match against the United Arab Emirates.

Al Annabi star Akram Afif missed the last group stage match due to flu but returned to training, giving the coaching staff a boost ahead of the clash with the Green.

Julen Lopetegui, the coach of Qatar, confirmed that Akram Afif's participation is still uncertain, pointing out that his health condition will determine the possibility of him appearing in the upcoming match.

Akram Afif's participation is crucial for the Qatari national team due to his attacking role, as the Maroons seek to surpass Saudi Arabia and secure a place in the Semi-Final of the Arabian Gulf Cup.

Saudi Arabia will play the match after topping Group A with a perfect record, achieving three consecutive victories against Kuwait, Oman, and Iraq, reaching the Semi-Final with an ideal record.

In contrast, the Qatari national team has reached the Semi-Final after finishing second in Group B with 7 points, collected from wins against Bahrain and Yemen, and a draw with the United Arab Emirates.
