AFC Asian Cup officially postponed
The AFC announced today, Tuesday, November 3, 2026, the rescheduling of the AFC Asian Cup 2027, which is set to take place in Saudi Arabia, to be held from December 23, 2027, to January 21, 2028, instead of its previous date scheduled between January 7 and February 5, 2027.
The decision came after extensive discussions and close consultations between the AFC Asian Cup, the local organizing committee for the tournament, and the Saudi Arabia Football Federation, in light of the exceptional circumstances currently arising from the developments in the region.
The AFC's decision comes with expectations that developments may present significant logistical challenges and disruptions in travel, prompting the organizing committee to agree to reschedule the tournament to address these circumstances and ensure the organization of the competitions.
