A goalless draw was the outcome of the match between Al-Ahli and their hosts Al-Sadd, which took place on Monday evening at the Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium in Doha, as part of the fourth round of the league stage in the AFC Champions League Elite.

The match saw back-and-forth attacking attempts from both teams, with Al-Ahli enjoying a slight advantage in possession during the first half, as their possession rate reached 58% compared to 42% for Al-Sadd.

Al-Ahli had 13 shots throughout the match, including 5 attempts on target, while Al-Sadd recorded 8 shots, with 3 of them hitting the woodwork, but neither team succeeded in scoring.

Al-Ahli suffered an early blow as midfielder Valentin Atangana was injured in the 17th minute, forcing him to leave the pitch and be replaced by Ziyad Al-Johani.

The match saw the referee show four yellow cards, with Akram Afif of Al-Sadd receiving a caution in the 22nd minute, while Galeno was booked in the 25th minute.

Al-Ahli's Rayan Hamed and Rogier Ibanez were both cautioned with yellow cards in the 66th and 73rd minutes, respectively, amid the competitiveness that dominated the flow of the match.

With this result, Al-Ahli, the defending champions, raised their tally to 8 points, continuing to stay among the top teams in the Western Zone group, while Al-Sadd reached 2 points in their continental campaign.
