Renato Vega: I was asked not to talk about the Ronaldo crisis

The Portuguese Renato Veiga spoke about his relationship with teammate Cristiano Ronaldo, confirming his closeness to the captain of the Portuguese national team. However, he declined to reveal further details, indicating that he had received instructions not to discuss the matter.

Vega stated in press remarks following yesterday's match against Denmark in the European Championship: "I am very close to Cristiano Ronaldo, and he knows that I hold a lot of affection for him."

He added: "But I was asked not to talk about this matter. I cannot speak about it."

Cristiano Ronaldo felt anger over not getting the minutes he expected against Denmark, after it was reported that he was waiting to participate in the last 30 minutes of the match, before coach Jorge Jesus decided not to bring him on.

Reports indicate that the president of the Portuguese Football Federation arrived at the national team's camp amid these developments, before Cristiano Ronaldo decided to leave the camp following the press conference held by the coach ahead of the match against Denmark.
