Mohamed Barakat: The decision to include El Shenawy ultimately depends on the coach

Former Al Ahly FC and Egypt national team star, Mohamed Barakat, has confirmed that the matter of goalkeeper Mohamed El Shenawy being in the starting lineup for the Red team in the upcoming phase remains subject to the coach's technical indications; emphasizing that the final word on this matter entirely belongs to the head coach's vision.

Mohamed Barakat, during his appearance on the program "Ya Masaa Al Anwar", hosted by the media figure Medhat Shalaby on the "MBC Masr 2" channel, said that Mohamed El Shenawy will have a role with Al Ahly FC in the upcoming period, emphasizing that the decision to include the goalkeeper or not remains the prerogative of the head coach.

Barakat explained that Al Ahly FC has two high-level goalkeepers, Mohamed El Shenawy and Mustafa Shobeir, noting that the duo possesses great potential. He also confirmed that Mohamed El Shenawy's ambition was one of the reasons that led him to the position he has reached in his career.

The former Al Ahly FC star addressed the beginning of Mohamed El Shenawy's crisis with the Egypt national team, explaining that it started during the match against Cape Verde in the friendly tournament in the United Arab Emirates, when the goalkeeper felt anger after being substituted before the penalty shootout. He emphasized the need to appreciate the senior players and those with history within the team.
