Former Raja coach: Al Ahly's presence in the Confederation Cup makes the tournament stronger
South African coach Fadlu Davids, the former manager of Raja Casablanca, sees the strength of the Egyptian League and the constant presence of its clubs on the continental platforms as factors that place the local competition among his top future coaching options. He mentioned in a television appearance on the "Stad Al-Mahwar" program that the high competitiveness in Egypt gives him the passion to embark on a new experience there.
Davids has stated that leading a team that regularly competes in the latter stages of the CAF Champions League is his primary goal and motivation for his next chapter. He also mentioned that his personal ambition revolves around winning the African title, which drives him to seek a sports project that guarantees him a place in the semifinals and the final of the continental tournament.
In this context, the former coach of Raja praised the competitive abilities of Egyptian clubs on the African stage, indicating that Zamalek SC and Pyramids FC possess all the qualities to represent Egyptian football honorably and go far in the current edition of the CAF Champions League.
The South African coach discussed Al Ahly FC's participation in the CAF Confederation Cup this season, stating that the club's absence from the CAF Champions League makes the competition in the Confederation Cup much stronger, given the strength of the Red team and its vast experience at the continental level.
Davids has explained that his ambition is not only linked to the Egyptian League but also to participating in major African competitions, emphasizing that competing for continental titles represents a fundamental part of his coaching objectives in the upcoming phase.
