Al Shorta secure valuable win over Al Seeb in AFC Champions League 2

Al-Shorta secured an important victory against their Omani guests Al-Seeb with a score of one goal to nil, in the first round of the AFC Champions League 2. The match took place at Al Zawraa International Stadium in Baghdad, with a large crowd supporting the Green Lyre until the end.

The first half of the match saw complete dominance from Al-Shorta with total control of the game, applying continuous pressure and making numerous attempts to reach the guests' goal.

Al-Shorta imposed their style from the first minute, confidently passing the ball in search of a gap in Al-Seeb's defense, while the Omani team clearly relied on organized defense and compactness at the back, closing all avenues in front of Al-Shorta's attackers.

Despite the chances created by Al Zawraa, the solid defense of Al Seeb and the brilliance of their goalkeeper prevented any goals, resulting in a goalless first half despite the clear advantage for the home side.

In the second half, Al Shorta showed more determination to score, intensifying their attacking efforts with clear instructions from the coaching staff to speed up ball movement.

Al-Shorta successfully cracked the code and scored the winning goal in the 51st minute through star player Hussein Ali, who gave his team three valuable points at the start of their Asian campaign.

After the goal, Al Seeb tried to break out of their defensive areas to equalize, but Al Shabab dealt intelligently with the remaining minutes, dominating midfield and maintaining their lead until the final whistle, winning by a clean goal.

With this victory, Al-Shorta have moved to 3 points, leading their group in the competition, starting their AFC Champions League campaign with a perfect beginning that gives them a significant morale boost ahead of the upcoming rounds.

Oman’s Al Seeb remain at zero points in fourth and last place in the group after this defeat.
