Al-Shorta overcome Al-Hussein with three goals in the Champions League 2
On a dark Asian night for the hosts and a bright one for Iraqi football, Al-Shorta struck hard and returned with an important and resounding victory from the Jordanian capital Amman after a deserved win over their hosts Al-Hussein Irbid with a score of 3-0 in the match held at the Amman International Stadium for the fourth round of the AFC Champions League 2, ensuring that the Qithara officially advanced to the next round with merit and entitlement.
Al-Shorta entered the match atmosphere in the first half in a remarkable manner, imposing their style through intense pressing, complete possession, and field control that made them the better and more dangerous side on the pitch.
The first goal did not take long to arrive as this early pressure resulted in the opening goal for Celta Vigo through player Koko in the 14th minute, giving his team the well-deserved advantage.
After taking the lead, the match continued at a fast pace with exchanges of attacks here and there as Al-Hussein Irbid tried to get back into the game and launched several dangerous attempts. However, goalkeeper Jalal Hassan was on guard, saving many dangerous shots brilliantly and valiantly defending his goal, ending the first half with Al-Qithara leading by a clean goal and enjoying absolute superiority.
With the start of the second half, Al-Shorta continued their attacking push and it didn't take long for them to add a second goal in the 59th minute through the impressive Koko once again, specifically via a precise cross from the left side sent by Ahmed Yahya. The goalkeeper managed to get a hand to it, but it slipped from his grasp and reached Koko, who powerfully placed it into the net, announcing the doubling of the score.
Al-Hussein Irbid tried to reorganize and control the flow of the game in order to reduce the gap and return to the match, but their attempts were thwarted by the solid defensive organization of Al-Shorta.
Before the referee blew the final whistle, star player Mimi added the third goal for Al-Shorta with a precise header in the 93rd minute, completely extinguishing the hopes of the home side and confirming the absolute superiority of the team.
This impressive victory has seen Al-Shorta raise their tally to 10 points, consolidating their absolute lead in the group.
While Al-Hussein Irbid remain on 5 points in second place, Al-Shorta have officially and deservedly secured their qualification to the next round of the Asian tournament.
