Olympiacos officially announces the appointment of Imanol Alguacil as new coach

Olympiacos have officially announced the signing of Spanish coach Imanol Alguacil to take charge of the first team, a move that comes after the departure of his compatriot José Luis Mendilibar from his position.

Olympiacos welcomed their new coach through their official accounts, publishing a message that read: "We welcome Imanol Alguacil to Olympiacos, our new coach," as the Spanish manager begins his mission with one of Greece's top clubs.

Alguacil arrives at Olympiacos after a long experience with Real Sociedad, where he led the first team for several seasons and achieved notable results, most notably winning the Copa del Rey in 2020 and repeatedly qualifying for European competitions.

Olympiacos hopes that Alguacil will continue the successful journey the club has experienced in recent years, after Mendilibar led the team to victory in the UEFA Europa Conference League, and then achieving the historic treble on the centenary of the club.
