Liverpool are considering competing with Chelsea for the signing of Frenchman Manu Koné during the winter transfer window, according to journalist David Ornstein, after AS Roma midfielder Lamine Camara has also come under the club's interest.

Chelsea have attempted to sign Manu Koné to replace Enzo Fernández and reached an agreement with the player regarding personal terms. They also made an offer to AS Roma worth €65 million, equivalent to £56 million, but coach Gian Piero Gasperini insisted on keeping him.

David Ornstein has clarified that Koné is attracting interest from Liverpool and Chelsea, alongside previous interest from Manchester United, while Liverpool are also keeping an eye on Lamine Camara of Monaco as one of their future options to strengthen the midfield.

Liverpool are considering a move for Adam Wharton of Crystal Palace, who could leave the club during one of the upcoming transfer windows. His value is estimated at £75 million or more.

Adam Wharton is keen to move to a team competing for top positions in the Premier League and participating in the Champions League, while Liverpool continues to explore options to strengthen their midfield.
