Sheffield United have officially signed Ghanaian international Jordan Ayew on a free transfer following the forward's departure from Leicester.

Ayew, 34 years old, has signed a one-year contract with Sheffield United, marking his return to the EFL Championship.

Jordan Ayew had become a free agent since the end of June, following the expiration of his contract with Leicester, which was relegated at the end of last season to the EFL Championship.

The Ghanaian forward made 42 appearances in the EFL Championship for Leicester last season, scoring 6 goals, but he was unable to help his team avoid relegation.

Jordan Ayew has extensive experience in English football, having previously played for Aston Villa, Swansea City, Crystal Palace, and Leicester. He also has prior experience in Ligue 1 with Olympique Marseille, Sochaux, and FC Lorient.

On the international stage, Ayew is the captain of the Ghana national team and one of the most capped players for the Black Stars. He also participated in the recent FIFA World Cup before deciding to join Sheffield United.

Jordan Ayew will join an attacking lineup that includes several names, notably Tom Cannon, Tyrese Campbell, Ben Brereton Díaz, Patrick Bamford, and Ryan Wand, in an effort to help Sheffield United compete strongly this season.

The club hopes that Ayew's international experience and English football will provide an important boost for the team this season.
