Bayern Münich held to a draw by Schalke ahead of UEFA Champions League

Bayern Münich continued their inconsistent results, as they fell into the trap of a goalless draw against their hosts Schalke in the second round of the Bundesliga, wasting two points before starting their campaign in the UEFA Champions League.

Bayern München failed to score throughout the match, marking their first goalless draw in the Bundesliga since February 2025. Meanwhile, Schalke earned their first point since returning to the Bundesliga.

Bayern Münich have increased their tally to 4 points after starting the season with a win in the first round, but their setback against Schalke will cost them the top spot in the table, ending their run of 67 consecutive rounds at the top.

Harry Kane came close to giving Bayern the lead in the closing minutes, but Schalke's goalkeeper Karius excelled and saved his shot, allowing the home side to maintain the draw until the final whistle.
