Reports have revealed that Manchester City were "very, very, very interested" in signing Alexander Pavlovic, the Bayern Munich midfielder and German international. The English club's interest in the player dates back to last spring.

According to Florian Plettenberg, Hugo Vieira, Manchester City's sporting director, has made several contacts to finalize the deal and is determined to sign Pavlovic, who has a higher priority on the club's target list than the Argentine Enzo Fernández.

Reports indicate that Manchester City have informed Bayern Munich of their readiness to pay up to €100 million for the player's services, which has made the Bavarian club aware of the seriousness of the Premier League champions' desire to sign him.

However, Pavlovic has made his decision and rejected a move to Manchester City, preferring to stay with his childhood club. He said: "I am Bavarian, I am from Munich and I want to stay at Bayern Munich."

Thus, the 22-year-old player has chosen to continue his career with Bayern Munich, despite a big offer and strong interest from Manchester City.
