Clashes between Bayern and Schalke fans before the match
The hours leading up to the encounter between Schalke 04 and Bayern Münich in the Bundesliga on Saturday saw clashes between the fans of both teams in a parking lot outside the Veltins-Arena.
According to reports from SPORT1 and BILD, clashes erupted between supporters of the two clubs, amid insufficient separation between the fans of both teams before the match.
Following the events, police issued orders preventing around 500 Bayern Münich fans from entering the stadium, resulting in a significant absence of the active supporters of the Bavarian club from the stands.
Reports indicate that Bayern Munich's Ultras have decided to boycott the match in protest against the measures taken.
The match will take place at Veltins-Arena in the second round of the Bundesliga, marking the first encounter between the two teams in Gelsenkirchen in three years.
