Dortmund turn the tables on Hoffenheim in thrilling comeback

Borussia Dortmund secured a thrilling 3-2 victory against hosts Hoffenheim on Saturday, in the second round of the Bundesliga. This win marks their second consecutive victory, allowing them to maintain their perfect start in the Bundesliga.

Hoffenheim took the lead in the 45th minute through Avdijaj, before Tim Lemperle doubled the score in the 54th minute, capitalising on a defensive error, leaving Dortmund two goals down and facing a difficult task to get back into the match.

Borussia Dortmund quickly responded, with Serhou Guirassy reducing the deficit in the 61st minute, after breaking through on goal and lifting the ball over goalkeeper Baumann. Fábio Silva then equalised in the 66th minute with a shot that deflected off the inside of the post before settling in the net.

Borussia Dortmund completed their comeback in the 87th minute when Albian Hajdari accidentally turned the ball into his own net after a cross from Ethan Nwaneri, giving the away team the win and the three points, amid celebrations from around 10,000 Dortmund fans in the stands.

Borussia Dortmund have increased their tally to 6 points after their 2-0 victory over Hamburg in the opening round, while Hoffenheim wasted the chance to maintain their lead and left the match empty-handed.
