Dortmund await Ben Sabaini's condition ahead of Bayern Munich clash
Borussia Dortmund are monitoring the fitness of their Algerian defender Ramy Bensebaini after he suffered a painful injury recently, with doubts surrounding his readiness for the upcoming clash against Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga.
Niko Kovač, the manager of Dortmund, explained that Ramy Bensebaini suffered a heavy blow to his thigh, saying: "He took a painful hit to the thigh. When you receive a knee strike to the thigh, specifically to the iliotibial band, the pain is extremely intense."
Dortmund hope the pain will subside in the coming days, allowing the Algerian defender to quickly regain his physical fitness, as such bruises can be extremely painful without necessarily requiring a long absence. A final assessment regarding his ability to participate in the next match has not yet been issued.
Borussia Dortmund are preparing to face Bayern Munich on Saturday, October 31, in a top clash of the Bundesliga, with Ramy Bensebaini's participation depending on his recovery over the coming days.
In related news, Ramy Bensebaini will miss the match against Werder Bremen in the DFB-Pokal due to a two-match suspension following his red card against Bayern Munich in the Supercup, with the second match against Bremen counting towards his suspension. Kovac revealed that young defender Johan Gado will return to the starting lineup to compensate for his absence.
