Davide Ancelotti criticises Lille's performance despite win over Toulouse

David Ancelotti, Lille's manager, expressed his dissatisfaction with his team's performance despite a hard-fought victory against Toulouse by a goal to nil in the third round of Ligue 1.

Ancelotti said after the match: "Despite the positive result, the feeling is negative. There are many things we did wrong. We didn't feel like we won the match, but we have to learn."

The Italian coach explained that Lille did not perform at the required level, noting that Toulouse played a strong match and pressed well, while his team needed luck to secure the three points.

He added: "We cannot repeat this kind of match. We had some chances, just as we were not lucky last week against Paris. I have a responsibility in this match, and the players know they need to perform better, and so do I."

This victory gives Lille three important points, but the team's performance raised questions. This prompted club president Olivier Létang to warn against repeating the same level of play, stating that the team was lucky to come out victorious.
