Ethan Mbappé joins France U21 for the first time

Gerald Baticle, the coach of the France U21 national team, has called up Ethan Mbappé for the first time to the French U21 squad, as part of the list announced today, Friday, in preparation for the continuation of the qualifiers for the UEFA Euro 2027.

The call-up for 19-year-old Lille player Ethan Mbappé comes after his good start to the season, as he has taken on an important role with the first team, having participated in five matches and scored one goal, according to French media.

France U21 will play four matches during the upcoming international break, starting with an away game against Iceland on September 25, followed by a match against Estonia on September 29. They will then host Luxembourg on October 3 and Switzerland on October 6 in Orléans.

France lead their qualifying group with 16 points from six matches, two points ahead of Switzerland, who have played one additional match.

The Patickel squad has called up four players for the first time alongside Ethan Mbappé, including goalkeeper Isyaka Touré, Daryal Bakoula, Alaji Bamba, and Tediame Gomes.
