Badr Eddine Bouanani joins Rangers on loan

Rangers have officially announced the signing of Algerian international Badr Eddine Bouanani today, Thursday, on loan from Stuttgart during the summer transfer window.

Badr Eddine Bouanani is 21 years old and began his career at the Lille academy before moving to Nice in 2022, where he made his first-team debut in January 2023. He also had a loan spell with FC Lorient during the second half of the 2023-2024 season.

During his time at Nice, the Algerian winger participated in 70 matches across various competitions, scoring a standout goal from a free kick against Rangers in the UEFA Europa League in November 2024.

Bouanani joined Stuttgart in the summer of 2025, playing 28 matches in his first season, including matches in the UEFA Europa League.

On the international stage, Badr Eddine Bouanani has previously represented France at youth levels before opting to represent the senior Algerian national team.

Bouanani said after joining Rangers: "I am very happy to be here and excited to get started. I know it is a tough competition with a lot of physicality and challenges, so I will need to work hard. I have a lot of experience now, and I will try to apply it in this competition."

For his part, manager Derek McInnes said: "We are very happy to welcome Baderdeen to the club. He is a young and exciting player who will add quality, creativity, and a different dimension to our attacking options."

He added: "He is a very good player on the ball, and he poses a real threat in one-on-one situations, and he has already gained experience in two of the strongest European leagues. We have worked hard to strengthen important positions in the team during the transfer window, and we believe that Badr Eddine Bouanani has all the qualities to make a strong contribution with Rangers."
