Italian star Stephan El Shaarawy has returned to Genoa on a free transfer after his contract with AS Roma expired without a renewal agreement.

Stephan El Shaarawy returns to the club where he started his football career, having left Genoa in 2011 to join Milan, before going on to have stints with AS Monaco, AS Roma, and Shanghai Shenhua.

During his second spell with AS Roma, Stephan El Shaarawy became one of the team's standout players, having played a total of 330 official matches for the club, scoring 65 goals, before his journey with the capital team came to an end this summer.

The 33-year-old's return to Genoa comes after nearly 15 years since his departure, marking the beginning of a new chapter in his career with the club where he started his professional journey, under the management of Daniele De Rossi.
