Vanoli ahead of Genoa clash: I'm not thinking about individuals
Paulo Vanoli, the head coach of ACF Fiorentina, discussed his team's preparations for tomorrow's match against Genoa in Serie A, addressing the status of injured players and the options available to him, as well as his assessment of several players.
The coach confirmed that he prefers to handle physical situations with caution, stressing the importance of having a complete squad capable of making an impact, whether through the starting formation or the players who participate during the match.
Franco Mastantuono has confirmed that Arthur Atta will not be available for the match due to abdominal fatigue, stating that the coaching staff preferred to lighten the workload and give him the necessary time to fully recover.
He added that he has put in place a special program to restore the player's fitness, expressing his admiration for the seriousness he has shown during the rehabilitation period. He also pointed out that Franco Mastantuono has the ability to recover quickly, but emphasized that the strength of the group gives him multiple options.
Fiorentina's coach addressed the situation of Pedro Gonçalves and Marin Pongračić, confirming that both have put in a great effort over the past few weeks, and that their continuous work is starting to show positive results. Vanoli stressed that he does not classify any player as a permanent substitute, clarifying that the team's interests come first, and that all players can contribute to achieving its goals, even by participating in part of the match.
He also pointed out that Bongardicic has tactical flexibility that allows him to play in both center-back positions, while Dragusin faces greater difficulty when playing on the left side.
Vanoli praised Vieri's potential, highlighting his ability to develop and play as a centre-back or full-back. He also commended Valdibiñas' character, who showed a quick understanding of the demands of the game as soon as he stepped onto the pitch.
In discussing Fagioli, Franco Mastantuono confirmed that the player possesses great talent and distinctive technical abilities, but he needs to deliver consistent performances to become a reference point for the team, noting his ability to perform different roles in midfield, whether in build-up play or creating chances.
Vanoli concluded his statements by discussing Ndour, emphasizing that he possesses important qualities but needs to continue working to reach a consistent level of performance. He explained that his task is to help the player develop and provide the right conditions to showcase his best.
