Liverpool officially announces signing of Lucca Brughmans

Liverpool have reached an agreement to sign Belgian goalkeeper Lucca Brughmans from KRC Genk, with the 18-year-old shot-stopper set to sign a long-term contract with the Reds.

Liverpool have confirmed that Brughmans will return to KRC Genk, where he will remain with the Belgian team until the end of the 2026/2027 season.

Lucca Brughmans had played 32 matches with the KRC Genk reserve team before being promoted to the first team and making his debut in April 2026. He then maintained his place until the end of the season, playing an additional 10 matches in the league.

The young goalkeeper continues to be a regular starter for KRC Genk this season, having started all four matches the team has played so far.

On the international stage, Lucca Brughmans wore the captain's armband for Belgium at the UEFA European Championship and the FIFA World Cup Under-17 in 2025, and he currently leads his country's Under-19 team.
