Amid English interest, Nottingham confirm stance on selling Murillo
Nottingham Forest are not planning to sell their Brazilian defender Murillo during the upcoming winter transfer window, despite interest from Liverpool and Chelsea, according to Football Insider.
Murillo, 24, is under contract with Nottingham until 2030, having signed a new deal last May. However, Liverpool and Chelsea continue to show interest in the Brazilian defender.
Liverpool are exploring options in central defence as Virgil van Dijk's contract nears its end. Chelsea are also looking to strengthen their backline, making them two of the main clubs interested in Murillo.
The same source confirmed that Nottingham Forest do not need to sell the player in January, especially after the club set a very high price to part with him.
The report clarified that Murillo has previously attracted the attention of Manchester United, while Chelsea have been interested in him for some time. Liverpool may also make a move for him due to their defensive needs. It was confirmed that any potential move will not happen in January, and the wait will be until the summer transfer window.
