Hamburg have officially announced their permanent signing of Fábio Vieira from Arsenal today, Tuesday, on the final day of the summer transfer window.

Fábio Vieira, 26, played for Hamburg last season on loan, delivering standout performances as he scored 7 goals and provided 5 assists, becoming the team's top scorer and assist provider with a total of 13 goal contributions in 31 matches across all competitions.

Kathleen Krüger, the sporting director at Hamburg, said: "Fábio is a football artist in the true sense of the word, possessing exceptional technical skills and a wonderful sense of the ball. He proved this impressively last season."

The final signing of a player of this quality represents a strong signal of the club's development, confirming that the player chose the Hamburg project out of conviction.

Sporting director Klaus Costa said: "We all know Fábio's value. He was a game-changer for us last season and possesses abilities that add a special quality to our style of play."

Fábio Vieira has expressed his happiness at returning permanently, saying: "I am very happy to be back here. I know the club, the fans, and many of my teammates, so I feel like I have returned to my place. I can't wait to start working again."

Fábio Vieira, born in Portugal in 2000, progressed through the Porto academy before moving to Arsenal in 2022. He was also awarded the Best Player at the UEFA European Under-21 Championship in 2021.
