Rongajik Prepares for Monza Clash: Injuries Hurt, Solit Key for Udinese

Costa Rongaik, the head coach of Udinese, spoke about his team's preparations for the upcoming match against Monza in Serie A, confirming that the last week has not been easy due to injuries affecting the squad, notably Nicolo Zaniolo and Matteo Palma.

Rongajik commented on the injuries: "It hasn't been an easy week, as it's always tough to lose talents like Zaniolo and Palma. We are working with Palma for his return in a few weeks, while we are focusing a lot on Zaniolo, and perhaps I played him too much. Injuries are part of football, and I'm certainly not happy about it, but we are a team with an identity and I'm optimistic about our ability to show it again against Monza."

Regarding Davis's readiness, the coach explained: "He will be available, he has trained well during the week and is excited, he wants to make his contribution on the pitch and can't wait to score." He also emphasized the difficulty of the match, stating: "There are no easy opponents, everyone wants to get points. It will be a tough match, Monza presses man-to-man as they did against Inter, making things difficult for them."

Rangnick discussed his team's style, stating: "We will bring our style of play to the pitch, and we need to score points and show character even away from home. We want to play intensively and vertically, which will be possible against Monza, but we also need to improve our defensive phase as we conceded too many goals last season."

Regarding Unai Gomez, the coach revealed that he will start in the lineup, stating: "We tested him as a midfielder in the 3-4-2-1 formation, but he can also play in other roles as he is a very dynamic player. He will start tomorrow, and I can't wait to see his qualities in a Serie A match. I don't know if he can play 90 minutes, but he will definitely start from the first minute."

Rangnick also spoke about Bertola, confirming that competition within the team is a positive factor, before sending a clear message to Omar Solit, saying: "I am very happy that he is still here, and I hope he stays with us until the end of the transfer window. He wants to play for bigger goals, and that is right, and as a coach, I want him to do that too. He is fast, good in one-on-one situations and in build-up play, and he loves to push forward into midfield. We want to keep him throughout the season to build the defensive phase, and he is well-liked by the team and very professional, having not missed any training sessions."
