Zaniolo leaves Italy camp due to muscle injury

Nicolò Zaniolo has left the Italy national team camp today, Saturday, after suffering a muscle injury, according to reports from Italian network "Sky Sport", thus removing him from coach Roberto Mancini's plans for the upcoming matches.

Nicolò Zaniolo has been included in the Italy national team for the first time since October 2024, after being summoned by Mancini as part of a 34-player squad for the UEFA Nations League.

The injury to the Udinese striker comes after Italy's loss to Belgium by two goals to nil in the opening match of their UEFA Nations League campaign, as they prepare to face Türkiye on September 28, followed by France on October 2.

The duration of Nicolò Zaniolo's absence has not yet been revealed, as medical examinations will determine the nature of the injury and the time needed for the player to recover and return to the pitch.
