Carl Jenkinson Announces Retirement from Football at 34

Carl Jenkinson, the former right-back for Arsenal and West Ham, has officially announced his retirement from football at the age of 34, after a career that spanned over 15 years on the pitch.

Carl Jenkinson's decision comes after his spell with Bromley, where he joined in 2024, before leaving the team at the end of last season and becoming a free agent since last May.

Carl Jenkinson started his career with Charlton Athletic before transferring to Arsenal in 2011, where he spent eight years and won the FA Cup twice. He also had two loan spells with West Ham, along with stints at Birmingham City, Nottingham Forest, and clubs in Australia.

During his international career, Jenkinson made one appearance for the England national team in 2012. In his retirement message, he revealed his struggles with self-confidence throughout his career, stating that he gave everything he had to football and is ending his journey without regrets.
