Slow Start for Ittihad in League with Draw Against Al-Kholood
Ittihad drew with Al-Khulood 1-1 during the match that took place on Saturday evening at the Al-Inma Stadium, as part of the first round of the Saudi Roshan League for the 2026-2027 season.
The Union imposed its superiority during the first half of the match, successfully taking the lead through Youssef En-Nesyri after intensifying its attacking efforts. Meanwhile, Al-Khaloud attempted to organize its ranks and search for an opportunity to bring the match back to square one.
The first half saw a goal for Al-Ittihad by Youssef En-Nesyri disallowed after the referee indicated an offside, denying the team the chance to extend their lead.
Just before the end of the first half, Ittihad had a golden opportunity to add a second goal from a penalty kick, but Hossam Aouar missed it after being denied by Al-Khulood's goalkeeper Hamid Al-Shanqeeti.
After the break, the team made a strong comeback, with Julien Domenge scoring the equalizer in the 52nd minute, bringing the match back to level.
Union received a painful blow just six minutes into the match when the referee showed a red card to Danilo Pereira, forcing the team to continue the game with ten players.
Both teams tried to capitalize on the remaining minutes to snatch a winning goal, but the attacking attempts did not result in any change to the score.
With this draw, Al-Ittihad and Al-Khulood each secured one point in their opening match of the Roshan League, as the Tigers failed to maintain their lead until the final whistle.
