Arteta: Hungry for Trophy, Marisca to Shine with City
Spanish manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed that his Arsenal team is eagerly looking to secure a win against Manchester City and claim the Charity Shield title in the opening match of the new season.
Arsenal will meet Manchester City at 5 PM next Sunday for the Community Shield, after Arsenal clinched the Premier League title last season, while Manchester City secured the FA Cup.
Arteta said: "We are extremely excited to start the season by winning the cup, and I feel a wonderful positive energy in the place, all the international players are back, and we are eager to start the competition."
He added: "It's a title we can achieve because we managed to win the Premier League last year, and you can see how thirsty the players are for victory, which is a good sign."
Speaking about Enzo Maresca, Manchester City's new head coach, Arteta said: "I know that Enzo has the personality and knowledge to do an incredible job."
He added: "This is why he was selected; they could have chosen anyone else, but they chose Enzo for good reasons. He has proven his competence at all levels, whether in the Champions League or during his time at Chelsea, and now with Manchester City. I am confident that he will do a great job."
