Everton and Crystal Palace Discuss McNeil-Johnson Swap Deal
The British newspaper 'The Times' has revealed that there are talks between Everton and Crystal Palace regarding a potential swap deal involving wingers Dwight McNeil and Brennan Johnson during the current summer transfer window.
According to the report, Everton is looking to secure the services of Johnson, while McNeil may move in the opposite direction to Crystal Palace, in a deal that would mark one of the rare player exchanges between clubs in the Premier League.
Negotiations are facing a hurdle due to the differing valuations of the players by both clubs, as the parties have yet to reach a final agreement on the financial terms of the deal, despite ongoing communications between them.
Dwight McNeil, 26, has one year remaining on his contract with Everton and was close to a move to Crystal Palace last January for around £20 million, before the deal collapsed at the last moment due to procedural issues.
Brennan Johnson joined Crystal Palace from Tottenham for £35 million last January, but he has yet to deliver the expected results. This has led the club to consider the possibility of including him in a new deal, while negotiations with Everton remain open to find a mutually agreeable solution.
