Official: Anthony Taylor Appointed New Head of Elite Refereeing in Turkey

The Turkish Football Federation has officially appointed veteran English referee Anthony Taylor as the new head of elite officiating, aiming to leverage his extensive experience at the highest levels of European and international football to enhance the refereeing system in Turkey.

Taylor will be responsible for overseeing the technical development of the elite referee system in the Turkish Football Federation, alongside contributing to raising the standards of referees and enhancing their technical abilities. He will also work on improving the training and qualification programs for referees in line with modern international officiating standards.

Taylor possesses extensive experience in refereeing, having spent many years within the English officiating system. He has officiated a significant number of important matches in the Premier League, in addition to his participation in UEFA competitions and international tournaments.

The English referee has officiated many major matches throughout his career, gaining significant experience in handling high-pressure games, which makes him an important addition to the project aimed at developing Turkish officiating.

Taylor's role in his new position is not limited to assessing referees or overseeing their performance; it extends to technical development, training, and rehabilitation, working to improve the mechanisms for preparing referees for matches, including technical aspects, decision-making, match management, and optimal utilization of modern technologies in officiating.
