Zakho Officially Signs Akam Hashim

Zakho has officially announced the completion of the signing of Iraqi national team defender Akam Hashim, who joins the "Sons of Khabour" for one season, in one of the standout deals of the Iraqi Premier League during the current summer transfer window.

The announcement came after intensive negotiations that lasted several days, culminating in the signing of the final contract between the club management and the player, thus closing the chapter on his transfer after entering the free agency period following the end of his contract with Al-Zawraa on July 1.

Sources close to the club revealed that the total value of the deal amounted to 1.7 billion Iraqi Dinars. Hashim received an initial payment of 800 million Dinars upon signing, which was one of the key conditions set by the defender to finalize the agreement.

All other requirements requested by the player have also been agreed upon, including the provision of suitable housing and additional facilities to ensure stability during his time with the team in the new season.

Akram Hashim, 27 years old, is considered one of the standout central defenders in Iraq in recent years. He has previously represented major clubs in the domestic league, playing for Erbil, Al-Shorta, and Al-Zawraa, leaving a clear mark at each stop with his defensive solidity and excellent positioning.

Hashim was one of the cornerstones of the 'Lions of Mesopotamia' lineup during recent tournaments, having actively participated in the 2025 Arab Cup and the 2026 World Cup, delivering consistent performances that have caught the attention of several local clubs.

This signing is part of Zakho's management plan to strengthen the team with experienced players in preparation for the 2026-2027 season. The coaching staff is counting on Akam Hashim's experience to lead the defense and provide the team with greater solidity in local competitions.

The player expressed his happiness about joining Zakho, confirming his readiness to give everything he has to please the club's fans and achieve the goals set by the team this season.
