Abdel Nasser Mohamed: Zamalek Aims to Retain Egyptian League Title

Abdel Nasser Mohamed, the Director of Football at Zamalek, spoke about the draw for the Egyptian Premier League for the new season 2026-2027, which took place today, Wednesday, at the Goal Project in 6th of October City.

Zamalek will meet Al Ittihad in the first round of the Premier League on August 21 at Cairo International Stadium.

Abdel Nasser Mohamed confirmed in statements reported by Zamalek's media center that the team is facing a strong test in the opening of their Premier League campaign, as the draw has placed them against Ittihad in the first round.

Abdel Nasser Mohamed stated that the league is always characterized by its competitiveness, given the close levels of all teams. He pointed out that there are no easy matches, and that the coaching staff and players are aware of the responsibility resting on their shoulders as the new season begins.

He added: "Our goal is clear, which is to maintain the league title that Zamalek won last season, and we will work hard to achieve this goal."

The director of football emphasized his confidence in the coaching staff, led by Mo'tamed Gamal, to compensate for the short preparation period and optimally prepare the players before the official competitions begin.
