Ajax Signs Tolu Arokodare on Loan from Wolverhampton

Ajax Amsterdam has announced that they have reached an agreement with Wolverhampton Wanderers for the loan of Nigerian forward Tolu Arokodare for one season, until the summer of 2027, with the deal including an option for a permanent transfer.

Arokodare is 25 years old and began his football career with Box2Box FC in Nigeria, before moving to Europe in 2019 through Latvian club Valmiera. He then represented FC Köln in Germany and Amiens in France, before joining KRC Genk in Belgium in the winter of 2023, where he excelled and was crowned the top scorer of the Belgian league for the 2024-2025 season.

In the summer of 2025, the Nigerian striker moved to Wolverhampton, before now returning to the European continent through Ajax, who are looking to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the new season.

Ajax's sporting director Jordi Cruyff stated: "With Tolu, we are adding a forward who possesses qualities that we did not have in the team. He is physically strong and has proven his ability to score goals. We are confident that he will make a significant contribution to the team during the upcoming season."
