Manchester City Battles Aston Villa for PSG Starlet
Manchester City has entered the race to sign young Senegalese winger Ibrahim Mbaye from Paris Saint-Germain, competing with Aston Villa for his acquisition during the current summer transfer window.
CaughtOffside reports that Paris Saint-Germain has started to accept the idea of selling the 18-year-old player, as he struggles to secure a starting position in coach Luis Enrique's lineup.
The report indicated that Aston Villa was the closest to signing Mbaye, before former club scout Brian King confirmed Manchester City's interest in entering the race for the transfer.
King stated in comments reported by "Football Insider" that Manchester City views Mbaye as a fitting replacement for Savinho, adding that City appears to be the frontrunner to complete the deal.
"CaughtOffside" added that the player is searching for a team that provides him with the chance to participate regularly, which could make a move to Aston Villa a more suitable option than Manchester City.
The report confirmed that Ibrahim Mbaye's future is still uncertain, with several European clubs continuing to express interest in signing him, amid increasing competition between Manchester City and Aston Villa to secure the deal.
