FIFA Grants 6 Teams Direct Qualification for 2030 World Cup

FIFA has announced that six teams will receive direct qualification for the 2030 World Cup, as part of the historic edition celebrating the 100th anniversary of the first World Cup held in Uruguay in 1930.

Spain, Morocco, and Portugal have secured their spots in the tournament as hosts of the main part of the World Cup, while Argentina, Uruguay, and Paraguay have received direct qualification as hosts of the special centenary matches, which will take place before the main competitions begin.

FIFA has clarified that granting direct qualification to Argentina, Uruguay, and Paraguay is part of exceptional arrangements to celebrate the centenary of the World Cup, with Uruguay hosting the ceremonial opening match at the "Centenario" Stadium in Montevideo. Meanwhile, Argentina and Paraguay will each host one match in recognition of the historic role these countries played in the tournament's inception.

With this, the six teams become the first to officially qualify for the 2030 World Cup, which will be held across three continents and six countries, in a historic edition of the global tournament. Meanwhile, the remaining teams will compete for the remaining spots through continental qualifiers.
