Bayern Munich Targets Barcelona Defender
Jules Koundé, the Barcelona defender, is still of interest to Bayern Munich in the transfer market, but the German club will only be able to move forward with the deal after offloading some players during the summer transfer window.
Journalist Christian Falk explained that Bayern Munich has been monitoring Koundé for several years and values his abilities, but currently lacks the necessary space to finalize the transfer due to the abundance of options available at right-back.
The French international has been performing impressively for his national team in the 2026 World Cup, having participated in all of France's matches so far and contributing to clean sheets in the last three encounters against Sweden, Paraguay, and Morocco.
Christian Falk added that Sacha Boey remains on Bayern Munich's list, despite spending last season on loan at Galatasaray, noting that his departure could open the door for the German club to pursue Koundé.
He also pointed out that Bayern has several players capable of playing the right-back position, such as Konrad Laimer and Josip Stanišić, which makes signing a Barcelona defender contingent on sales within the team.
The report confirmed that Bayern Munich has already completed the signings of Nathaniel Brown and Ismail Sabri this summer, while any new acquisitions remain dependent on the departure of certain players, notably Sacha Boey, Kim Min-jae, and João Palhinha, should suitable offers arise.
