Zion Suzuki Reveals Alisson's Message After Japan's Exit: 'Hold Your Head High'
Japan's goalkeeper Zion Suzuki shared the conversation he had with Brazil's Alisson Becker after their World Cup 2026 match, stating that the Brazilian's words were a great source of inspiration for him.
Suzuki said: "He told me in Italian: I saw you play last season. You had a good season and played wonderfully. So, hold your head high and keep moving forward," in a message of support from Alisson after Brazil's qualification.
The Japanese keeper added: "Receiving recognition from players of such caliber made me feel that everything I have built so far has not been in vain. At the same time, I realized that I need to become like those players, and as a Japanese goalkeeper, I should stand alongside them and even surpass them."
Suzuki is considered one of the most promising goalkeepers in Asian football, having caught attention with his performances for Parma in Serie A, and he continued to shine with the Japanese national team in the World Cup, earning praise from one of the world's best goalkeepers, a gesture that resonated widely with fans.
