Andrey Santos faces criticism after Brazil appearance

Andrey Santos has faced criticism from Brazilian media following his appearance for his country against India, amid questions regarding Manchester United's decision to sign him from Chelsea for £50 million during the summer.

Andrey Santos started in Brazil's 4-0 win against India, before being substituted after 61 minutes. He made one shot, created one chance, and achieved a passing accuracy of 91.2%, alongside recording two defensive interventions.

Globoesporte rated the player 6 out of 10, praising his defensive work, while he received the same rating from GZH, which noted that his performance was organized but did not provide a clear attacking contribution.

Andrey Santos has made just one Premier League start for Manchester United, playing 26 minutes in the Champions League, and his appearances could become more difficult with Carlos Baleba's return.

Criticism continues over the signing as Paul Ince, Paul Scholes, and Wayne Rony question spending £50 million on Andrey Santos, believing that the club needed to strengthen other positions, such as the full-backs or the forward line.
