Roma Reaches Agreement with Zeki Celik on Contract Renewal

Roma has successfully reached an agreement with Turkish defender Zeki Celik to renew his contract, putting an end to speculation surrounding his future after his contract expired on June 30. This comes despite interest from Juventus and Inter Milan in acquiring his services.

According to "Calciomercato," Celik has already signed his new contract with Roma, with only the official announcement of his continued stay with the team pending.

The new contract extends for three seasons, with an annual salary of around €3 million, as Roma's management was keen to retain one of its key players, aided by coach Gian Piero Gasperini's significant role in convincing the player to stay.

Celik was a key player, starting in 43 out of 45 matches for Roma last season, contributing to the team's qualification for the Champions League, which further fueled the club's desire to secure his future before the new season begins.

Despite Juventus and Inter Milan's interest in signing the Turkish international during the summer transfer window, Roma managed to resolve the matter early, ensuring the player's continued presence in the upcoming phase.
