Vanoli: We put in a great performance and deserved to win!

Paulo Fonseca, the head coach of ACF Fiorentina, expressed his sadness following his team's 2-1 loss to Inter in the eighth round of Serie A, after his side squandered a lead in the closing minutes of the match. He emphasized that the performance displayed by the players deserves praise despite the negative result.

Fanuoli said in his statements after the match: "We knew the strength of Inter, but we must look at what we presented until the 90th minute. I think we played a very strong match and improved in many aspects. We had two chances to score the second goal, but we lacked some calm in exploiting them. I feel sad for the players because they deserved to achieve an important victory."

ACF Fiorentina's coach added: "Inter are not the first team to come back against us, they have done it in previous matches as well. We are in a development phase over the last two or three matches, and we must keep our heads held high and continue to work in the same way. I see many positive aspects in the team's performance."

Vanoli discussed his substitutions during the match, stating that he brought in new players to increase attacking threat through one side of the pitch. However, he admitted that things did not go as he had expected, while also expressing his satisfaction with the overall level of the team and urging his players to keep calm and not succumb to frustration.

The coach emphasized the importance of focusing on the future, stating that the team is working on building its own identity and should not be compared to last season's squad. He added that positive results will give the players the confidence they need and that ACF Fiorentina is capable of delivering better performances in the upcoming matches.
