Feyenoord has halted negotiations for the transfer of Algerian international Anis Haj Moussa to the Saudi league after rejecting a formal offer from Al Ahly during the current summer transfer window.

The winger's name had been linked with a move to Al Ahly in recent days, as the club seeks to strengthen its squad ahead of the new season, looking for a suitable replacement for compatriot Riyad Mahrez, who left the club a year before the end of his contract.

According to French website "Foot Mercato," the Saudi club moved to the official negotiation stage after making an initial offer to Feyenoord's management for Haj Moussa.

The same source indicated that Feyenoord's new technical director, Davy Propper, rejected the Saudi proposal, demanding around €37 million for the player’s sale during the summer transfer window.

The report added that Al Ahly's management considered Feyenoord's asking price too high, prompting them to reassess their options and look towards other names to bolster their attacking line, including Portuguese player Francisco Trincão from Sporting Lisbon.
