Al Ahly FC thrash Al Khaleej 4-1 in Saudi Pro League

Al Ahly FC thrashed their guests Al Khaleej 4-1 in the match that took place on Friday evening at the Prince Abdullah Al Faisal Stadium in Jeddah, as part of the 11th round of the Saudi Pro League.

Al Ahly FC have increased their tally to 21 points, moving up to 5th place in the standings, while Al Khaleej remain on 12 points in 10th place after their defeat to the hosts.

Ivan Toney opened the scoring for Al Ahly FC in the 11th minute, rising to meet a cross from Eduard Spertsyan resulting from a set piece, and headed it into the top right corner, following an early attempt from Valentin Atangana that was saved by Al Khaleej's defense.

Just before the end of the first half, Ivan Toney tried to enhance his team's lead with a shot from outside the box in the 41st minute, benefiting from a pass from Artem Bondarenko, but Al Khaleej's defense succeeded in stopping the attempt.

With the start of the second half, Al Khaleej came close to reducing the deficit through Moisés Barrow, who shot in the 49th minute after a pass from Pedro Ribeiro, but his effort went just wide of the right post. Al Ahly FC then punished them with a second goal scored by Bondarenko in the 57th minute.

Al Ahly FC continued their dominance, adding a third goal through Francisco Trincão in the 61st minute, after he capitalised on a pass from Ivan Toney during a counter-attack, firing with his left foot into the bottom left corner to enhance his team's advantage with three goals.

Thamer Al-Khaibri pulled one back for Al Khaleej in the 87th minute with a left-footed shot from inside the box, but Ivan Toney struck again in stoppage time, scoring Al Ahly FC's fourth goal and his second of the match from a penalty in the 94th minute, sealing a four-goal win.
